What pay would I receive as a trainee architect?
On the payment of (trainee) architects, Article 12 of the Code of Professional Conduct and Practice states: “Depending on the title, the architect is remunerated in fees, stipends, salary or pay that afford him a means of existence and enable him to practice his profession with honour and integrity.”
Self-employed Status
The health index for January 2025 is 135.52.

The amounts used to calculate the minimum hourly internship allowance in 2024 were: 14.16 euros at the start and an increase of 2.85 euros every six months.
- 14.16 euros + 4.096% = 14.74 euros
- 2.85 euro + 4.096% = 2.97 euro
From 1 March 2025, the following minimum hourly fees will therefore apply to trainee architects working under self-employed status.

These hourly rates are exclusive of VAT.
Salaried Status
Trainee architects in salaried employment. i.e. having an employment contract, are paid in line with the joint committee for the liberal professions, PC 336.
